EIKON AWARD (45+) – AUCTION
The three photographs on offer through Eikon are from the Agent Provocateur series, created during performances at art fairs, galleries and Documenta13. Here I invited visitors to choose from one of the countless responses to my controversial 2008 project, Complete Burning Away. I then wrote this on their skin and photographed it. These statements (from vitriol through to praise) critique the merits, ethics and parameters of the artist and contemporary art in society. Worn on the skin these temporary tattoos functioned as fashion accessories, billboards and provocations to encourage debate and dialogue. And fun. Lots.
