THE LOVERS – text on cast interior

I am convinced – of what? – so I search vehemently. Down outdoor and indoor hallways, through throbbing spaces to a muted green room, then a droning one and discover you as a secret, dancing alone in a room of gold noise. Watching you excites me.  I edge along the walls. Months pass as the dance awkwardly evolves. Leap. Backtrack. I laugh at myself for the sad moonwalk. And for gestures which claw at the sky in an alien language. Closer. We touch and arc disco moves that span two continents. I draw a line from your lips down the centre of your chest and to the end of the earth. Jump back. Sidestep. You throw in a dose of shoegazing. Sweep. Our rhythms join. And you spin and take me in, traveling into and down one of my corridors, whispering thrilling things. Diving into one another, we travel long and hard, tenderly, relentlessly, dodging the death of this dance, risking the danger that is us.
